Description:
Multi-stemmed mallee to small tree, 2-10 m high. Rough, dark grey-brown bark near base, with older bark shredding in strips to expose smooth, pale upper limbs. Reddish branchlets near flowering. Dull, grey-green, oil-dotted, 5-15 cm long by 1-2 cm wide. Buds with long beaked pointed caps, longer than rounded base, in groups up to 12. Clusters of cream-yellow flowers. Late winter to summer. Rounded, 7 mm diameter, needle-like protruding (when unbroken) valves. Throughout the year.

Natural Distribution:
Widely distributed throughout lower rainfall regions in all mainland agricultural districts of SA. Extends into WA, NT, NSW and Vic. Common to mallee areas.
