Description:
Multi-stemmed, smooth-barked mallee, 1-4 m high (mainland SA), to single-stemmed, small tree or erect mallee to 10 m high (Kangaroo Island). Grey-cream bark, shedding strips, may be rough near base. Glossy, thick, lanceolate, 5-10 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. Clusters of strongly ribbed buds on flattened stalk, with rounded cap shorter and narrower than the base, 1 cm long by 0.5 cm wide. White flowers. Throughout the year, commonly in summer. Strongly ribbed to angular, conical to pear-shaped, 3-4 triangular pointed valves level with or exceeding the rim, 0.5-1 cm long and wide, on flattened cluster stalk. Throughout the year.

Natural Distribution:
Widely distributed in sub-coastal areas of SA including the South-East, Murray region, Southern Lofty, Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula and Eyre Peninsula. Also in WA.
