Description:
Spreading, medium to tall shrub, 1-3 m high. Smooth, fleshy, thick, green, 3-7 cm long by 0.5-2 cm wide, with or without serrated (toothed) margins towards the tip. White petals, often with purple spots, 2-8 per axil, 1 cm diameter. Late winter to spring (August to October). Fleshy, succulent, globular drupe, 6-8 mm diameter, outer skin turning from green to dark purple (mature) over a woody stone, usually with 1 developed seed. Late summer to autumn (February to March).

Natural Distribution:
Widely distributed throughout coastal areas and floodplains on saline, sandy soils. Occurs in all agricultural districts of SA. Extends into WA, NSW and Vic.
