Natural Distribution:
Common to woodlands, mallee, shrublands and grasslands in all agricultural districts of SA. Also occurs in WA, NSW and Vic.

Notes:
Very palatable to animals, is usually seen in spring with the feathery head appearing through a small shrub or bush which provides protection from animals. Threatened on Kangaroo Island and rare in the South-East region.
