Description:
Erect or spreading shrub, 0.3-1 m high. Sharply pointed, 1-2 cm long. Bright red, conical, tubular flowers 0.5-1.5 cm long. Autumn to spring. Rounded drupe. Spring to summer.
Natural Distribution:
Common to sandy soils of temperate forests, woodlands and mallee in all agricultural districts of SA. Also occurs in Vic.
Notes:
Recorded as threatened on Yorke Peninsula and rare in the Northern Lofty region.
