Description:
Rough-barked, spreading mallee to small twisted tree, 4-10 m high. Dark grey to brown, box-type bark on trunk and branches, to smooth and pale on smaller upper stems. Small mallees may be almost entirely smooth. Has distinctive oil dots. Glossy, bright green to light green, 5-10 cm long by 0.5-2.5 cm wide, intra-marginal vein well in from leaf edge. Plump, club-shaped buds, rounded cap (blunt or pointed) usually shorter than the base, in groups of up to 7. Clusters of white flowers. Summer. Round, pear-shaped, 4-6 valves set below the thick rim level, 5 mm diameter. Throughout the year.

Natural Distribution:
Widely distributed in all mainland agricultural districts of SA ranging from lower rainfall mallee regions to moderate rainfall woodlands. Extends into NSW and Vic.
