Description:
Slender, perennial, tussocky grass, 0.8 m high. Rolled-over or flat blades. Mainly in spring. Rusty red seed.
Natural Distribution:
Common to drier areas of woodlands and grasslands in all mainland agricultural districts of SA. Also occurs in WA, NSW and Vic.
Notes:
Many similar Austrostipa species in SA. Rare in the South-East and uncommon in the Southern Lofty region.
