Description:
Green, rounded shrub, 1-3 m high. Relatively stiff, linear-oblong, green, 2-5 cm long by 3-5 mm wide, with rounded to notched ends. Small, white-petalled flowers, in terminal clusters. Late winter to spring (August to October). Rounded, small, olive-green, splitting when ripe to expose shiny, dark blue to black seeds. Summer to early autumn (January to March).

Natural Distribution:
Distributed throughout lower rainfall regions in most agricultural districts of SA (absent from the South-East and Southern Lofty). Extends into WA. Common to mallee areas.

Notes:
Glossy blue-black seeds are considered a 'fruit mimic' which are dispersed by a variety of bird species. Similar flowers and fruits to Geijera parviflora which is a small tree with longer leaves (5-15 cm) and a more northerly distribution.
