Description:
Medium (ssp. pruinosa) to tall tree (ssp. leucoxylon), to 30 m high, several closely related subspecies (ssp.). Mostly smooth, pale, mottled-coloured bark throughout, some rough bark at base. Glossy green, lanceolate, 7-20 cm long by 1.5-3.5 cm wide. Buds occur in groups of no more than 3, with pointed caps about equal in length to the base. Groups of white (ssp. pruinosa) cream to red-pink flowers (ssp. leucoxylon). Autumn to early summer. Occur in groups of no more than 3, smooth, relatively large, cupular to wine glass shape, 7-11 mm diameter, valves below level of thick rim. Throughout the year.
