Description:
Multi-stemmed mallee to small tree, to 10 m high. Rough, grey bark tessellated at base, to smooth and pale on upper limbs with old bark shredding in strips. Glossy green, narrow-lanceolate, 5-10 cm long by 0.7-2 cm wide, oil-dotted. Buds 1cm long by 5 mm wide, 4 equally spaced longitudinal ridges, blunt or pointed cap shorter than base. Clusters of white flowers. Winter to spring. Rectangular, 4 longitudinal ridges (square in cross section), approximately 1 cm long by 5 mm wide, valves below the level of the circular rim. Throughout the year.

Occurs as closely-related subspecies in most mainland agricultural districts of SA (except South-East). Extends into Vic and NSW. Common to mallee areas.
