Description:
Single-stemmed, moderate-sized tree to 15 m high and somewhat crooked (Eyre Peninsula), to straight and tall to 30 m high (southern Flinders Ranges, Kangaroo Island). Smooth bark, mottled orange to cream-grey. Glossy, dark green above, paler underneath, 10-15 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. Buds with rounded short caps and small central point, on a longer cylindrical base, to 1 cm long. White flowers. Summer to autumn (January to April). Cylindrical to 'urn-shaped', smooth to ribbed, constricted towards the rim, enclosed valves below the rim level, 1-1.5 cm long by 0.5-1 cm wide. Throughout the year.

Occurs in three distinct locations in SA including Eyre Peninsula, southern Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island. Does not occur interstate. Common to woodland areas.
