Description:
Multi-stemmed mallee to small single-trunked tree, 2-7 m high. Rough, ribbony bark near base, to smooth and pale on upper limbs. Glossy green, lanceolate, 5-14 cm long, up to 2.5 cm wide. Sessile, stalkless buds, in tight groups on robust cluster stalk, ribbed pointed caps. Clusters of white flowers. Summer. Cylindrical, smooth to ribbed, stalkless in tightly clustered groups on robust stalk, short pointed valves just above the rim level when open. Throughout the year.

Natural Distribution:
Distributed throughout lower rainfall regions, on sands to light clays, in most mainland agricultural districts of SA (absent from the South-East). Extends into WA and Vic. Common to mallee areas.
