Stunted, multi-stemmed mallee to small tree, 3-10 m. Usually rough, grey, tessellated bark at base, to smooth and pale on upper limbs. Smooth, glossy green, lanceolate, 5-10 cm long by 1 cm wide. Small club-shaped buds on delicate stalks, rounded cap (shorter than base) with tiny point, groups of up to 7. White flowers occur in small clusters. Autumn to spring. Small, pear to barrel-shaped, thin walls with valves below the level of the narrow rim, to 5 mm in diameter. Throughout the year.
